This strays away from my usual topic, but man I really start to wonder what is going to happen with 3D printing. I heard a great segment about it the other day on NPR and it just raises many questions that I would like answered.
Are people getting ahead of themselves with 3D printing? I have heard they have printed guns and even a burger, but is it really that close?
What happens to all the jobs that will be lost when 3D printing really hits big?
What happens to the price of goods when a worker no longer makes it and mass machines just print whatever the object may be?
Will this be in my lifetime, I am 25, but some say its soon and some say mainstream printing is still 50 years away.
For those wondering about more information on 3D printing here are a couple of links to check out.
